Working on something good can change everything.

The Project's Beginnings
Lost, Found & Transformed began with a lot of reading and reflection. It began years and years ago without a name, a firm idea, or logo. It literally started and stopped, with scribbles, "notes to self" and writings in notebooks with no firm direction. It began as many ideas do without real purpose. I did not know what to do with this collection of thoughts or what it might become.
Like many people I've had hard things in my life. I don't feel that comparing my hard stuff to others has a lot of value. We all have our own hard stuff. But I do think that we all eventually come to a point, where we can go no farther, that we hit a wall, and need to do something good to make a positive change. It is as that moment that our own personal difficulties can be transformed to goodness that may benefit others.
Lost, Found & Transformed is in part my journey toward transformation.
After 14 years as a caregiver for my father and then my aunt, I was sad and exhausted. My aunt passed in early 2025 and I thought, I just need to rest. Unfortunately a full year later by January of 2026, I was still tired. I did not know how to get untired.
I attended a women's workshop on New Year renewals that offered a few tips that helped. Those helpful tips were:
When most sad, start with physically changing your body (move, walk, dance), this will help change your mind set.
Then consider your thoughts and self-talk; move toward a grateful and positive state (cut off that negativity) and speak kindly to yourself.
Finally, remember not everything is about "me" that by giving back we free ourselves from ourselves and we may even help others.
In short - MOVE, THINK, ACT!
As an artist, I could have made more art, but had all these thoughts and writings. I wonder what I could do with those and began writing, designing and working. In that work, I again realized again that "Working on something good can change everything."
What a critical thought: "Working on something good can change everything!"
Suddenly, I had a project that brought joy and meaning to may day to day. A project that I hoped and prayed may also inspire others.
