Transformed by Grace

Every experience we have is an opportunity for learning and growth. I've been fortunate to have had some really fantastic work experiences. One of mine was as the master course writer and adjunct instructor for a local Christian University. The idea of living life of transformation for self and others was a key point in one of the text books. As I continued my own study and read more, I found other authors touching on that idea of transformation.
As a Christian, a woman and mother, I've not only seen my spirit and physical body change over the years, but also have been transformed by experience. For me, the Grace of God had been a guiding force, a self check, for all these transformation experiences. As I worked on this project and developed the logo and name, that needed to be central in the design of each.
Logo and Name
As I studied the parable of the lost sheep, the concepts and visual symbolism within resonated with my hopes for this blog. Not only as Christ as the Lamb of God, but as as his flock.
The Lamb has multiple meanings, Christ, we his flock, "I" as lost and "I" as found.
The text forms a cross reminding us of the sacrifice paid.
The Heart symbolic of God's love and the love within our communities.
The Anchor is symbol of hope; we anchor our faith on the solid rock of Christ.
Finally, the juxtaposition of pure white against black, of purity in a fallen world.
The half of the while lamb face we "see" and other half of that face in black that our mind can only construct another juxtaposition of light and dark.
Grace is a Gift
Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV states, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast."
Though I've been designing, writing etc. all of this would not be possible without the Grace of God. As you read the blog posts and look at this logo, may they be a reminder that it is not about you or me, but about the Grace of God and His will for us. So this gift of grace allows goodness in our lives to promote more goodness.
